childrens art THE ART

One of the methods AFS Founder Heather McMahan implements to improve the quality of life for our American Warriors is to collect and deliver powerfully uplifting letters and Art from Americans; somehow these are much easier to collect from children than adults....so she focuses on the children. The result is twofold: not only are the soldiers deeply moved, and send letters expressing this to AFS; there is also a very positive, educational experience amongst the children when Ms. McMahan visits them in schools, daycare centers, scout reunions, etc..and shares these letters with them while providing them art supplies to create their own powerful Art. Initially Ms. McMahan copied each piece of Art 100 times to maximize it's effect as it was delivered to the front lines. Now all the Art is available in downloadable form from this site; AFS has a dream: to have this powerful art appear as wallpaper or screensavers on all the computers the military or other entities make available to our troops. Please visit the Galleries listed to the left to experience the power of markers and crayon on an 8x10 piece of paper.
